The flood waters continue to recede after the extreme conditions in June.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) released federal aid to help Minnesota residents recover from weeks of disastrous flooding. President Joe Biden made an emergency declaration for nearly two dozen counties, authorizing mortgage moratoriums, housing insurance, and home rebuilding programs now that flood waters are finally receding.
“Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide,” the White House wrote in its emergency declaration for the state. “Damage assessments are continuing in other areas, and more counties and additional forms of assistance may be designated after the assessments are fully completed.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That President Biden mobilizes his administration to mitigate major disasters.
- That these HUD programs help flood-stricken Minnesotans rebuild their homes.
- For the Biden administration as it works with state governments to support Americans.
